A Game of Tag

The humans are cheating, I don't care that its impossible they are! They even admit to having a "strange feeling" sometimes.

It was the tenth round playing intergalactic simulated tag with these strange new creatures that it became apparent. A strange habit of always suspecting when someone was watching them had turned into accusation of cheating.

They had won, every. single. round! In this game were each round takes many hours, none of them had lasted more than one. The simulation was meant to grant, as close as possible, the real physical attributes of the species they were. And the humans just, ran and ran and ran, nonstop for the entirety of every match! They literally ran other species into the ground for goodness' sake.

Now this was clearly grounds enough of cheating but the simulation had gone over it and clearly explained precisely how they were able to do it. It was still insane and cheating but fine, every species has some advantage.

Then came the next point, their ability to detect when they were being watched. The humans never ran alone, always at least five people. Sneaking up on them, surprising them, intercepting them, ANYTHING turned out to simply be impossible.

If you moved, they would see you. Staying still while well camouflage, did work, sometimes. However against something constantly running that fast, it was pure luck if you got one.

But that's not the worst part. Some of the sprinter species tried to intercept them. They would lie still in an ambush and wait. But it was as if they could feel being watched. After some time they inevitably tried to just run after them.

That usually how they lost. Humans would just increase their speed, run up some tree or hide themselves depending on the species that was after them. Once exhausted, they were easy pickings for the humans.

So in the last round every other species decided to gang up on them. To see if they had any limits at all! We encircled them, hidden with perfect camouflage. Captured, they would have to pass right by one of our groups.

That's when it happened, they stopped moving. One of them apparently felt something strange so they just stood there. Our perfect plan crumbled as they just stood there, waiting for something.

For many hours nothing moved, I can't even fathom how they did it but they had detected us, all of us. Eventually some got tired of waiting and attacked, the humans slipped out of the encirclement as if it had never even been there.

That round was it, they were cheating! Even the simulation couldn't explain how they just knew that we were there. When we asked the humans they simply said that something felt of, so they decided to wait. SOMETHING FELT OFF! They didn't even see a single one of us, yet they managed to perfectly counter our strategy.

Im not playing this stupid game anymore. I heard of a new type of game called "shooters", that's apparently much more fun. Going to play that instead so I can get away from all these cheating humans.
